The aim of The Goalkeeper Academy Summer Camp is to enhance each area of the goalkeeper's game through technical field training, physical training, classroom sessions, video sessions, and leadership topics. The camp will also teach goalkeepers about positioning, distances off their line, and when and how to close down shooters in a 1v1 situation. The camp will start with physical development and distribution, which is key for young goalkeepers to learn how to play with their feet.
Each day goalkeepers will have two intense field sessions including technical training on set shape, handling, diving, 1v1s, crosses, advanced handling and diving techniques, and point blank saves. Between the double day sessions, time will be spent in the classroom working on leadership development, mistake management, and group activities. Every day will be finished with a Goalkeeper Wars competition and a tournament will be held on the last day with the champion winning a free pair of Aviata goalkeeper gloves.
Camp curriculum will cover fitness, speed and agility, technical goalkeeper sessions, tactical sessions in goal scoring opportunities, crossing and finishing, small sided games, and more.
